SOPSEC with Saraiva + Associados won an international competition and was responsible for the design and supervision of the project. It is a bold building in architectural terms, with 3 floors partially buried and 2 floors above ground; the building has a balanced cover and a « skin » on the facades that distinguishes it architecturally. There are parking areas, supermarket and « ancora » stores and food court. The main challenges were structurally related to the seismic risk and geotechnical complexity of the site.
